Hawks beat bulldogs in qualifying final

Hawthorn has earned themselves theior first preliminary finals berth in 7 years after a bruisng win over the Bulldogs at the MCG last night. More than 76,000 people turned out to watch the second qualifying final, and if you wouldn't have been disapointed if you were a Hawks fan. Buddy Frnklin kicked 8 goals for the match, just one shy of equaling the record for the number of goals kicked a qualifying final.

However, as good as Buddy was, the suprise packet was Michael Osborne. Osborne strated moving through the forward line after half time and earned himself 4 goals, as well as 2 scoring assists. Roughead chipped in with 3, but shoukld have really converted an additional 2 of his 3 behinds.

The Hawks will need every minute of the week off they earned by winning last night. Trent Croad didn't see the second half of the watch due to a foot injury, Rick Ladson suffered a shoulder injury, Grant Birchall injured his hip and a thigh injury to cameron stokes.

The Hawks now take on the Loser of Geelong and St Kilda who will play the winner of Collingwood and Adelaide for a spot in the grand final. It's shaping up to be an exciting month. Wouldn't everyone love to see a Hawthorn Geelong Grand Final?!
